In 1991 Suede-Life introduced the “Clean & Green System” to the world. It gained industry recognition fast. Within two years 75% of leather cleaners were wet cleaning leathers and within four years many manufacturers and retailers jumped on board by recommending this process to their customers. In 2001 Suede-Life introduced a simplified system called “Solo-Clean”. This system helped reduce cleaning times and product usage. In 2007 Suede Products now introduces Wet Cleaning 101. We’ve gone back to the basics to bring you a cost effective, yet more powerful, cleaning system.
What makes this system unique is the method in which the products are added. First we inject one ounce of Wet-Side Booster to the wash wheel and clean in 90° F water for 8 minutes. During this step the Wet-Side Booster will clean & degrease. Next is a clear water rinse to remove any excess dirt or soap. In the third bath, now that we have a clean surface, we add one ounce of Wet-Side Oil. There is an option of a fourth bath to which we add ˝ ounce of Final Rinse to create water repellency.
Advantages of Wet Cleaning 101:
- Cleaner – This process will produce cleaner garments because the soap is added first without any oils being present.
- Softer – The oil is added at the end to a clean surface for better retention.
- Price – At only $34.00/gallon this is a 50% savings over traditional methods.
